5 TV shows that you’ve never heard of but are worth checking out

 Have you ever been scrolling through Netflix or Hulu and come across a TV show that you’ve never heard of before, but the trailer looks intriguing? You start to watch it, but after a few episodes, you lose interest and end up not finishing it? Well, we are here to tell you about seven TV shows that you’ve probably never heard of but are worth checking out. All of these shows have seasons that are six episodes or less, so they’re perfect for those nights when you don’t want to commit to a full-length series. Plus, who knows? You might end up becoming obsessed with one (or more) of them!

1. Schitt’s Creek:

While it doesn’t seem like much in the beginning and is a little strange (the plot revolves around a wealthy family losing all of their wealth and being forced to go back to live in Schitt’s Creek, the town they bought when they struck it rich), this show is hilarious. It is a TV show that you might have heard of but never actually watched. It is about two spoiled socialites who suddenly find out they’re broke due to their father being in some financial trouble. The family ends up having to move to a small town called Schitt’s Creek, hence the show’s name. Schitt’s Creek is a hilarious, quirky show that will keep your attention. There are only 13 episodes per season that you can download from RarBG, so there isn’t much to catch up on if you’re interested in watching it.

2. Peaky Blinders: 

This show is a period drama in post-WWI Birmingham, England. The show follows the Shelby family as they rebuild their lives on the wrong side of the law. The plot is centered around a gang of men called “Peaky Blinders,” who get their name from sewing razor blades into the peaks of their caps. It’s about how they rise and make a name for themselves during this time. This show is full of action, suspense, and great British accents. Thomas Shelby (Cillian Murphy) is a gangster who has an eye for fashion and business, while his hot-headed younger brother, Arthur (Paul Anderson), gets caught up in a love triangle. Arthur’s wife, Linda (Kate Phillips), is a blunt and religious woman who has difficulty with the family business. Their older sister, Polly, tries to keep it together while her husband attempts to forge a life outside of the gang.

3. House m.d.: 

It is a medical drama about Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie), a knowledgeable but grumpy physician who leads his diagnosticians at the fictional Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey. This show is funny and entertaining, without being too severe or gory as other shows on the same topic. Dr. House has an annoying personality but a brilliant diagnostician’s mind that can analyze his patient’s symptoms and figure out what is wrong with them. He has a team of doctors who assist him in this matter, including Dr. Robert Chase (Jesse Spencer) and Dr. Eric Foreman (Omar Epps). The series ended after 8 seasons in 2012. new characters make their way on the house’s team, and he has to decide on which doctor to let stay and who deserves to be fired. The finale of season 8 deals with the death of Dr. House and the birth of Lisa Cuddy’s baby. However, this was not meant to be the end of the series, but instead, it ended up becoming the beginning of the spin-off series, “The New Doctor House.”

4. Scrubs:

Scrubs is about a young man named John “J.D.” Dorian, who graduates from college hoping to become the best doctor in his residency program. After being fired for repeatedly taking time off of work to attend personal events, he takes on a job at Sacred Heart Hospital, which is full of quirky doctors. J.D. soon learns that he will never become the best doctor if he spends all of his time at Sacred Heart, and along with his friend Turk (Donald Faison), they work together to get out of Sacred Heart Hospital and onto better things in their lives. Scrubs is a comedy about the lives of the employees and patients inside Sacred Heart Hospital and their families. Scrubs is a great show for fans of early 2000’s comedies. The entire cast is very memorable, and there are Oodles of famous guest stars featured in the front (i.e., Sarah Chalke, Zach Braff, Neil Flynn, etc.).

5. Unbelievable:

It is based on the real-life experiences of Marie, who a former Air Force sergeant raped. She has to fight the military bureaucracy to find her attacker and bring him to justice. The show stars Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie), Josh Charles (The Good Wife), and Toni Collette (Hostages). Unbelievable is a feminist show that centers around a woman who finds the strength to fight back against her attacker. It tackles themes of gender violence, victim-blaming, and military bureaucracy. The show is intense and brilliantly executed by its outstanding cast.


They’re very underrated TV shows to watch for those low-key nights. If you haven’t seen them yet, then check them out! They’re all worth the time and exciting to watch.
